Ultrasonic Cleaning is a safe and efficient modern procedure which ensures perfect cleaning within the shortest time possible. It has many advantages over ordinary cleaning methods. Ultrasonics can remove even the most tenacious deposits from parts which would be difficult to reach by hand, it also reduces the risk of injury or infection which may occur during manual cleaning.
The ultrasonic cleaning mechanism consists of an ultrasonic generator which produces ultrasonic vibrations within a cleaning solution (liquid) at a frequency of around 45,000 oscillations per second. These micro-vibrations within the liquid create microscopic bubbles by cavitation. The bubbles then implode and generate acoustic shock energy which removes even the most ingrained dirt, particularly from parts that traditional cleaning methods cannot reach.

Some field of application are:
Cleaning procedure of mechanical parts such gears, tools, engine parts. Ultrasonic cleaning is the most efficient and economic procedure to remove grease, oil and chip residuals.

Cleaning and decontamination of suitable surgical instruments with an ultrasound tank is a relevant step in the "Sterilization Process". This procedure (decontamination and ultrasonic cleaning) play an important role not only in terms of patient protection against infections but also in terms of protection of the medical/infirmary staff involved in the handling of the surgical instruments. Refer to the article published on the Annals of Microbiology: A new methodology for decontamination of dental instruments by an ultrasonic cleaner based on Sweep System Technology (Bestetti et All.)

Ultrasonic cleaning of electronic boards is another field of application.
The use of a specific detergent such our SONICA® PCB together with the efficiency of the ultrasonic waves remove the flux and organic residual from the surface of the electronic board. This technique is commonly used in the cellphones repair centres and in washing procedure of small electronic boards both traditional and SMT.

Washing of laboratory glassware, ceramic components (mortars), and plastics components. Besides SONICA® tanks can also used for "sonochemestry" application, acceleration of chemical process, solution degass for HPLC technique.
